Black Experiences in Canada: Narratives of Resilience and Resistance online course that is available to all Ontario secondary institutions within the eCampus database.

“Black Experiences in Canada: Narratives of Resilience and Resistance” is an online course that is available to all Ontario secondary institutions within the eCampus database. This course centres Black voices and lived experiences through the analysis of various art forms that go beyond mainstream narratives including literature, spoken word, and music, among other things.

This modularized full semester 42-hour course facilitates a greater understanding of Black experiences in Canada using stories of resistance and resilience, histories of systemic oppression, and the power of art as a tool for social change and healing.

The frameworks of anti-oppressive pedagogy and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) guided the design of dynamic learning objectives, interactive activities, collaborative learning, and assessment strategies.
